General Information
The Family Care Network’s 7th annual Miracle Miles for Kids Walk/Run will take place on April 17, 2010. The 10k (6.2 miles) race course runs along the water’s edge from Morro Rock to the Cayucos Pier, one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in California.
When participants cross the finish line, they will be treated to a post-race party with live music, lunch, a diverse vendor fair, children’s activities and an award ceremony. In addition, every walker/runner will receive a goody bag filled with fun items and a 2010 Miracle Miles for Kids commemorative t-shirt! This event has something for everyone—from the serious athlete trying to beat their best personal time to moms and dads looking for something fun the whole family can enjoy.
The race begins at 8:30 am and the post-race celebration runs from 9:00am-12:00pm. All are welcome to participate in one or both portions of this exciting event!
Event Day Schedule:
- 6:00 am – Walk-up registration opens
- 8:30 am – Race begins
- 9:00 am – Post-race Celebration begins
- 9:30 am – Lunch is available
- 10:15 am – Award Ceremony
- 10:00 am – Shuttles to Morro Bay begin
- 12:00 pm – Post-race party ends
Registration Fees:
- $30 for early registration through March 17th (Early Registration closes at 11:59pm March 17th)
- $45 for registration from March 18th to April 11th (Registration closes at 11:59pm April 11th)
- $50 for walk-up registration on race day, April 17th
Early Race Packet Pick-Up
Save time and avoid long lines on race day by picking up your Race Packet early! Race Packets will include your bib, timing tag and important race information and will be available for pick-up at the following times and locations:
- Wednesday, April 14 at Kennedy Club Fitness - 500 South River Road, Paso Robles - from 4:00-7:00pm
- Thursday, April 15 at the Family Care Network Headquarters - 3765 S. Higuera St. Suite 100, San Luis Obispo - from 4:00-7pm
- Friday, April 16 at the Family Care Network Headquarters - 3765 S. Higuera St. Suite 100, San Luis Obispo - from 11:00am-2:00pm
Race packets will be available for pick-up on race day from 6:00-8:00am for those unable to attend any of the above pick-up opportunities. Please note that participants are not permitted to pick-up any Race Packets except their own without written permission from the participant(s) for whom they are picking up the Race Packet. If a participant is picking up Race Packets for five (5) or more other participants, they will need to pre-arrange their pick-up time at least 24 hours in advance by calling (805) 781-3535. IDs will be checked for Race Packet pick-up. These restrictions are necessary as a result of packets never reaching the corresponding participants and to eliminate the Family Care Network's liability if a participant does not receive their packet and timing tag from the individual who picks it up.
IPICO Timing system TAG Timing
Electronic IPICO timing tag will be used at this year’s Miracle Miles for Kids walk/run! IPICO tag timing will provide every participant with an accurate, electronically-calculated finish time.
Finish times will be recorded through a small tag attached to every participant’s shoe which will be associated with the participant’s bib number. As participants cross the finish line, they will pass over a mat which will record the exact time the participant finished the race. Through electronic tag timing we will be able to provide all runners/walkers with faster, more-accurate results, as well as an entertaining award ceremony. Please see the important details below regarding electronic tag timing.
- All participants must attach the tag to their shoe in order to receive a time and be officially entered in the race.
- Timing tags will be available at early bib pick-up events (dates to be announced) as well as on race day.
- Participants may bring their race day shoes to early bib pick-up to have their timing chip affixed for them.
- All timing tags will be collected as soon as participants cross the finish line. If for some reason a participant is in possession of their tag and is unable to race, they must mail their tag back to:

- Participants will be billed $30 for each unreturned tag.
- To attach the timing tag, simply attach the Tag to your shoelaces using the plastic tie and pull tight. (Please Do Not lace the tag though your shoelaces)
