The Importance of Pledging

Raising pledges is not required to participate in the event, but it is strongly encouraged as funds earned through pledging make a significant difference in the lives of the foster and high-needs children and families we serve. When participating as an individual, in a team or as a centipede, we encourage you to raise pledges! Even those who cannot participate in the event are welcome to raise pledges for the cause. All of the funds raised for Miracles Miles for Kids is used to directly support the children and families served by the Family Care Network, and comes from people like you who encourage your family, friends and community members to monetarily support your participation in this special event! Every pledge positively impacts a life!

So how do I start?

  • Get pledges! As soon as you complete your registration, a personalized donation page will be created for you. Using the features of your personal webpage, you can email all of your friends, family, and co-workers about your participation in Miracle Miles for Kids, a benefit for foster and high needs children and families living in our community. They are then able to donate to you online, via your personal webpage. You may also direct friends and families to Family Care Network’s Miracle Miles for Kids donation page by clicking here.
  • If you would prefer not to use online pledging, or would like to supplement your online donations with donations you have collected in person, simply click here for a printable version of the Pledge Form.
  • Remember to carefully record your supporters’ names and information on the Pledge Form and collect their pledges. Checks should be made payable to “The Family Care Network”. Please write “Pledge for (participant’s name)” on the check’s memo line.
  • If you are collecting any portion of your pledges in person, please bring your Pledge Form and collected pledges to the Family Care Network’s headquarters on 3765 S. Higuera in San Luis Obispo prior to April 13th or bring them with you on race day.
