Recent Statistics show that:
  • One in five children in California lives in a poor household.
  • One in ten teen ages 16-19 are high school drop outs.
  • In California, about one in 12 seventh-graders reports having used marijuana.
  • Also in California, about one-third of high school students report that they have been offered drugs or alcohol at school in the last year.
Every year, the Family Care Network works to provide much needed services to combat many of the abovementioned statistics. With services such as Therapeutic Foster Care, Family Support Services, School-Based Mental Health and Delinquency Prevention Services, and Transitional Housing Services, the agency works in collaboration with our community to strengthen and preserve families and individuals.

How You Can Help Us Achieve Our Mission
  • Encourage your friends and family to pledge in your name online at www.fcni.org or request a printed pledge form by calling (805) 781-3535.
  • Help us as an individual runner by setting a goal to raise $100 in pledges.
  • Run with a team of friends/co-workers and set a team goal of $1,000 in pledges.
Our goal is for every Miracle Miles for Kids participant to raise pledges to support foster and high-needs children on the Central Coast. All proceeds earned through pledges at the event will directly benefit the Central Coast community’s youth and families, so every pledge counts!

Your Pledges Support things such as:
  • $100 buys school supplies and clothing.
  • $500 helps a youth join a sports team or purchase a musical instrument.
  • $1,000 helps furnish an apartment for an older teen about to transition from foster care to adult independence.
